What is the Cricket Score Predictor?

TV broadcasts often show "projected score" at different run rates. The cricket score predictor does the same: from the current score and overs it projects the final total at the current rate and at other rates you choose.

It is a simple projection, not a guarantee; wickets in hand change everything. To see the current rate alone use the Run Rate Calculator; for the chase that follows, use the Cricket Target Calculator.

How to use the Cricket Score Predictor

  1. Enter the current score and overs.
  2. Choose the total overs (20 or 50).
  3. Read projected totals at the current rate and other rates.

Formula

Projected total = current score + run rate × overs remaining

Example

On 86 after 10 overs in a T20 (CRR 8.6), the projection is 172 at the current rate, 166 at 8 per over and 186 at 10 per over.

Overs and balls: 4.3 is not 4.3

In cricket, 4.3 overs means 4 overs and 3 balls, which is 27 balls or 4.5 "real" overs, not 4.3. All our cricket calculators convert overs to balls correctly (overs × 6 + balls). Enter overs in the usual cricket way and the maths is handled for you.

Why projections change

Teams usually accelerate in the last overs (death overs), so a T20 side scoring 8 an over at the halfway mark often finishes higher than the simple projection. Early wickets have the opposite effect.

Cricket stats are linked: a team's run rate decides its net run rate, and each batter's strike rate and each bowler's economy add up to the team total. Use these calculators together:
