Times use the same methods as our Prayer Times (Namaz Timings) tool. To count down to the start of the month see Days Until Ramadan; to calculate zakat before Eid use the Zakat Calculator.

Example

Precautionary minutes
Many printed Ramadan calendars end sehri a few minutes before Fajr and set iftar a couple of minutes after sunset as a precaution. Follow the announcement of your local mosque.
Healthy fasting tips
- Eat a balanced sehri with protein, fibre and water.
- Avoid very salty and fried food at iftar.
- Drink water steadily between iftar and sehri.
- Rest when you can, especially in hot weather.
Ramadan moves earlier each year
Because the Islamic year is about 11 days shorter, Ramadan comes earlier each year. In the late 2020s it falls in winter months in Pakistan, so fasts are shorter than in the summer Ramadans of the 2010s.
