What is the CGPA Calculator?
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is your overall average across all semesters. It is weighted by credit hours, so a semester with 21 credits counts more than one with 15.
Enter each semester's GPA and credit hours to get your CGPA. The calculator also shows an approximate percentage using CGPA ÷ 4 × 100 and a division, because many forms in Pakistan still ask for percentage or division. Your university's own conversion table always takes priority.
How to use the CGPA Calculator
- Enter each semester with its GPA and credit hours.
- Add more semesters with "+ Add semester".
- Read your cumulative CGPA, approximate percentage and division.
Formula
CGPA = Σ (semester GPA × semester credits) ÷ Σ credits
Example
Semesters of 18, 17 and 18 credits with GPAs 3.20, 3.45 and 3.60 give (57.6 + 58.65 + 64.8) ÷ 53 = a CGPA of 3.42, roughly 85%.
CGPA to percentage
There is no single national formula. Some universities use CGPA ÷ 4 × 100, others use their own grade tables or formulas such as (CGPA × 20) + 10. When a job or admission form asks for percentage, quote your university's official conversion if one exists.
Typical division by CGPA
| CGPA | Division |
|---|---|
| 3.00 and above | First |
| 2.50 – 2.99 | Second |
| 2.00 – 2.49 | Third |
