Where the tola comes from
The tola is a traditional South Asian unit of mass, historically based on the weight of a silver rupee coin. In 1833 the British set it at 180 grains, which is where the modern value of 11.6638 grams comes from. Although Pakistan uses the metric system officially, the tola remains the standard unit in the gold and silver market.

Rounding on receipts
