Why Pakistan can differ by a day
Umm al-Qura is a calculated calendar used in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan's Ruet-e-Hilal Committee starts each month on actual moon sighting, so Islamic dates in Pakistan are often one day behind Saudi Arabia.
Using Hijri dates in daily life
Hijri dates decide Ramadan, both Eids, Hajj, Ashura and the zakat year. Many people also note their Islamic birth date. Use the converter to find yours, then see your age in lunar years with the International Age Calculator.
