What is the Age Calculator?
The age calculator works out your exact chronological age from your date of birth. Instead of only giving whole years, it shows years, months and days, the total number of days, weeks, hours and minutes you have lived, and the weekday you were born on.
You can also choose an "age at" date. That is useful when an admission form, a government job advert or a visa application asks for your age on a cut-off date, such as 1 January or the last date of applications. For birthdays to come, see the Birthday Countdown.
How to use the Age Calculator
- Enter your date of birth using the date picker.
- Leave Age at the date of as today, or pick any past or future date such as an application deadline.
- Read your age in years, months and days in the highlighted box.
- Scroll the results for total months, weeks, days, hours and the countdown to your next birthday.
Formula
Age = whole years between the dates, then the remaining whole months, then the remaining days
If the day of the month in the target date is smaller than your birth day, one month is borrowed and the days of the previous month are added. This is the same method used on official forms, so 29 February birthdays and month-end dates are handled correctly.
Example
Someone born on 15 August 1998 who wants their age on 1 March 2026 is 27 years, 6 months and 14 days old. In total that is 10,060 days or about 1,437 weeks.
Common uses of an age calculator
- Job and admission forms: many Pakistani and international forms ask for age on a fixed closing date; set the "age at" date to that day.
- Upper age limits: check whether you are under 25, 30 or 35 on the deadline before applying.
- Medical and school records: doctors and schools often need age in months for children.
- Fun facts: see how many days or hours old you are, or the exact day you turn 10,000 days old.
Different ways of counting age
Most of the world uses the international method used here: you are 0 at birth and gain a year on each birthday. In traditional East Asian counting a baby is 1 at birth, and Islamic (Hijri) years are about 11 days shorter than Gregorian years. The International Age Calculator shows all three side by side.

Enter your date of birth and today's date. The calculator counts complete years, then complete months, then the remaining days, and shows the answer instantly.
How can I find my age on a specific date?
Change the "Age at the date of" field to any date, for example the last date of a job advert, to see your exact age on that day.
How many days old am I?
The results show your total age in days, weeks, hours and minutes as well as years, months and days.
How is age calculated for someone born on 29 February?
In non-leap years the birthday is treated as 28 February for the next-birthday countdown, while the exact age is still counted day by day.
