What is the Grade Calculator?
Most university courses are graded by weight: assignments 15%, quizzes 10%, mid-term 25% and final 50%, for example. The grade calculator combines these into your current weighted grade and letter grade.
Set a target grade and it tells you exactly what you must score on the remaining assessments, usually the final exam. When the semester ends, turn letter grades into a GPA with the GPA Calculator.
How to use the Grade Calculator
- Add each assessment with its weight % and your score %.
- Leave the score empty for anything not yet graded.
- Enter your target final grade.
- Read your current grade and the score needed on the rest.
Formula
Weighted grade = Σ (score × weight) ÷ Σ weight of graded work
Example
Assignments 88% (15%), quizzes 75% (10%) and mid-term 70% (25%) give a current grade of 76.4% on half the course. To finish with 80%, you need 83.6% on the 50% final.
Tips to reach your target grade
- Find the highest-weighted assessments and plan for them first.
- Small assignments add up; do not skip them.
- Make a revision plan with the Study Time Calculator.
- Keep your attendance safe with the Attendance Calculator.
