The quick method
- Count the days remaining in the current month after today.
- Add the days of each full month in between.
- Add the day number of the target date.
Example
From 10 October to 25 December:

Include today or not?
Most countdowns, including ours, count the days after today, which matches how we speak: if an event is tomorrow, it is “1 day away”. For leave applications or event durations, you might count both ends; then add one day. The Date Difference Calculator lets you choose.
Working days
