What is the Package Weight Calculator?
Invoices, packing lists and courier bookings need the gross weight: the product (net weight) plus all packaging (tare weight). The package weight calculator adds the product, box, filler, tape and labels for one carton and multiplies by the number of cartons.
Estimate the empty box weight with the Box Weight Calculator; compare with volumetric weight in the Dimensional Weight Calculator.
How to use the Package Weight Calculator
- Enter product weight and units per box.
- Enter box, filler, tape and label weights.
- Enter the number of boxes.
- Read net, tare and gross weight.
Formula
Gross = net (product × units) + tare (box + filler + tape + labels)
Example
12 units of 0.45 kg (5.4 kg net) in a 0.6 kg box with 0.2 kg filler and 0.05 kg tape gives a gross weight of 6.25 kg per carton.
