Remembering Allah after each prayer is a beloved Sunnah, and the most famous form is the tasbeeh of 33, 33 and 34. Many people use prayer beads, finger counting or a digital counter to keep track. This guide explains tasbeeh after salah and other simple daily adhkar, with our free Tasbeeh Counter to help you count.

The basic tasbeeh

Phrase Meaning Count
SubhanAllah Glory be to Allah 33
Alhamdulillah All praise is for Allah 33
Allahu Akbar Allah is the Greatest 34 (or 33 + one more phrase)

Together they make 100. This is often called Tasbeeh Fatima, after the hadith in which the Prophet (PBUH) taught it to his daughter Fatima (RA) and Ali (RA) as better than a servant.

Another narration

Some narrations mention 33, 33 and 33, completed to 100 with “La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shay’in qadeer”.

Other short adhkar

  • Astaghfirullah (three times) immediately after salah
  • Ayat al-Kursi after each obligatory prayer
  • The last three surahs (Ikhlas, Falaq, Nas)
  • Darood (blessings on the Prophet)

Daily totals

If you do tasbeeh of 100 after each of the five prayers, that is 500 phrases a day, 3,500 a week and around 15,000 in a month of 30 days. Small daily habits add up.

Focus and meaning

Counting is a tool; the aim is presence of heart. Saying fewer phrases with attention is better than rushing. Learn the meanings and reflect while counting.
